Default Springfield XD

Some people love them, some people hate them. I'm of the former group. I used to own a Glock 23, but I got tired of the way it felt. I ended up getting an XD-45 Compact, and I recently purchased a ported XD-9. They're both a dream to shoot. The porting on the 9mm is just sweet.

Put a pair of Trijicons on the .45, and I like them, except than the fact that there's not a lot of contrast on the sights during daytime shooting. I'm thinking about putting tritium or fiber-optic sights on the 9mm, but first I'd like to find a sight set that allows for good night visibility, while maintaining contrast during day shooting. Any suggestions?

I shot the full-size XD-9 and I liked it.

I'm not an XD fan either. As for sights, I'd suggest picking something contrasting, front to rear (meaning one color front, another rear) or just get a bright front, and leave the stock rear. I'm going to just do the front on the 23 when I figure out exactly which one I want. So far, I've decided i want something bright, with a white ring around it. I don't pay much attention to the rear, so I'm just going to leave it as is.

At the range i used to go to in VA, I used a rental xd 40 tatical in a bowling pin shoot and won that night. I think that it is an accurate gun, and in my opinion has a cleaner trigger pull. The glock sometimes feels like you are dragging plastic against plastic. However if you change out the connector with a lighter one (like the long slide and competition 34 and 35) you can get a descent3.5 to 4 lb trigger pull out of them.
